Class Summary:
This week we worked on fractions. We learned about equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with and without common denominators, multiplying fractions, and dividing fractions!! Next week is our last week of class!!
Homework for this Week:
- Print the Accountability Sheet and return it to class next week. If you are unable to print it, write down the information on a piece of paper to turn in during class.
- Optional: Watch the following YouTube videos about multiplying and dividing fractions:
- Play a game with a member of your family or a friend. Here are some options:
- Play a game we have already played in class.
- Dandelions
- Neighbors (5×5)
- Boxed In
- Tenzi
- Tic-Tac-Toe Sums or Products with positive number or integers
- Oddball
- Hopping Hundred
- Mancala
- Magic Grid Trick
- Battleship
- Additional guidelines:
- Ships must be placed on integer coordinates (corners), not fractions or decimals.
- Ships must be horizontal or vertical, not diagonal.
- Do not place on the outside line. Keep it in the -6 to 6 range.
- Additional guidelines:
- Rook: You can learn how to play Rook with your family using the deck of cards given in class.
- Play another game with your family. Most games involve math is some way. Strategy and critical thinking are an important part of math, so those are awesome skills we can practice when playing games.
- Play a game from this website:

- L.A.P. Game (mathgameswithbaddrawings.com) – This game is similar to battleship, but more challenging. You can try it online by yourself or using graph paper with a friend or family member.
- Play a game we have already played in class.
- Optional: Complete the coordinate graphing pictures from class. For each picture you complete, you can get a prize from our treasure chest. I cannot link them due to copyright issues. But if you forgot to pick them up, you can send me a slack message or email. You can turn them in anytime before the end of the school year.
