Book Reading

If you are reading The Peacemaker read chapters 4-7.

If you are reading Children of the Longhouse read chapters 3-4.

Book Discussion Question

In your binder there is a tab called “Book”. Open that up and write one question that you would want to ask a friend after finishing your assigned reading. Maybe it’s not a question but it could be something like, “Isn’t it interesting that…..” There are other ideas of things you could write on the paper.

Read the Declaration of Independence

Read the Declaration of Independence. It’s in your binder under ”declaration”. You only need to read the part we highlighted in class. You can read more if you want though! Ask a parent or older sibling to read it to you if you need help.

Opinion Paper

Please write at least 5 sentences. And write your name and the date at the top of the page.

The question to answer this week is:

What was the most interesting item at the museum of peoples and cultures and why? Was there something that surprised you? If so, what was it and why? What item was displayed at the museum that is similar to something you use today?

Readers Theater

Practice reading your part for the Reader’s Theater that we will have in class on Thursday. Your part should be in your binder. If you can’t find your part contact Mrs. Hamberger.

As you watch, be thinking of answers to these questions:

  • What were some of the reasons these explorers set out into the unknown?
  • What are some of the difficulties they encountered?
  • Any similarities between the explorers you learned about?
