BUSINESS PROJECT
Write your semester goal in your planner on the last page.
Do your weekly action step(s) you wrote in planner this week to move closer to your semester goal.

CONNECT
Get on slack and report when you’ve completed your weekly action step. By telling other people, you will be more committed and supported. Even better – post your action step on Friday, then report when it’s done.

CHALLENGE
Make 1 sale in your business. If your business is yard work, then make a sale snow shoveling, don’t sell a piece of furniture. If it is selling food, then sell a loaf of bread, don’t clean the house for your mom. The sale needs to relate to your business.

1 Month Challenge (by Feb 15) – Make $100 in your business.

Pitch ChatGPT directions/prompts
Make your slides on Canva or Google Slides. You can search for a slidedeck template to make it look nicer.

Practice your pitch at home to at least one person.
You will be presenting this in class next week (Feb 8.) On Feb 15, we will have an in-class competition for cash prizes (but not as much as the PitchFest on Feb 17.

**NO NEED TO READ THE BOOK THIS WEEK – I changed my mind since I think making this presentation is good enough**

TRACKING
1 – Time Tracking – DO THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T YET – Track how you spend your time for the next week in 30 minute increments. Get at least 3 weekdays tracked. TIME TRACKING SPREADSHEET WITH DIRECTIONS – or use the time tracking pages in your planner. **BRING your time tracker to week next week!**

2 – Sales Tracking – Write down any sales you make on the last page of your planner.

Turn in the Homework checkoff sheet.  BRING YOUR PLANNER TO CLASS WITH YOUR CHECK OFF SHEET!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
You have the opportunity to win cash prizes ($100 to $1000) as an investment into your business and get professional feedback on your business!

I’m co-hosting a Teen PitchFest (shark tank style, but nicer and much lower pressure) on Saturday, Feb 17 9:00am-12:30pm. Any teen can register for $25, but you can get in for free for being a member of this class.  The odds are pretty good of winning at this point as this is a brand new event.   I would LOVE to see every one of you win a prize!

There will also be a market with plenty of booths and traffic so you can showcase your wares or services. If you pitch, people will be even more likely to purchase from you!

WATCH

This has slightly different slides than what I gave you, but they are very similar and he has great ideas for each. For example, he says “Traction” slide – that would be the market validation slide where you are telling what you’ve done to show that this is a valid business idea. He also has a “Team” slide which is similar to the competition slide – where you talk about the competition but then you tell why you are the one to solve the problem.

One big thing you need to focus on is selling the problem. This means that you have to make the people feel the problem and say “yeah, that is a problem” and then you sell the solution. So when you present your solution, you have to help the people feel like your solution is the best one.

You only need to watch this if you want to learn to make slides in Canva.
